How frequently should I refresh my mineral sites?
Our recommendation is to replenish mineral sites every six weeks. After you've refilled a site five or six times, there will be a sufficient nutrient reservoir in the soil to keep attracting ungulates for a couple of months before needing another replenishment.
For deer and moose sites, 5 pounds of product per replenishment is ideal.
For elk sites, it's best to use 10 pounds of product when replenishing.
When should I replenish my mineral sites throughout the year?

In Canada, wildlife faces particularly harsh conditions during the winter months, prompting ungulates to frequent mineral sites heavily during this period.
Spring and summer mark the crucial antler and fawn growth seasons, making mineral licks a primary resource for ungulates during these months.
The fall season is synonymous with the rut, during which bulls and bucks are in high activity, while does and fawns tend to remain near mineral licks and feeding areas. Whenever does are present, bucks and bulls are sure to follow. Therefore, maintaining your mineral sites consistently throughout the year is essential to support the varied needs of wildlife.
